Bourjois is a brand I’ve always heard amazing things about. For the past few months I’ve been trying out all of their complexion range and I’ve whittled down a list of my three favourite products. If you’re looking for a new base product at an affordable price, check out these top picks:
1. Bourjois, Health Mix Foundation (£9.99)
This is the all rounder of all Bourjois foundations. It is super hydrating and leaves your skin luminous and flawless. The formulation is breathable on the skin, looks incredibly natural and whilst it offers a medium coverage, it’s buildable to a full coverage without ever looking cakey.
The beautifully fruity smell is impossible to ignore, and it’s refreshing to know the foundation is actually doing a good job for your skin instead of just masking it. The formulation includes apple as an anti-oxidant, apricot for radiance, melon for hydration and ginger for energy.
I really can’t rave about this foundation enough. This is now firmly in my top 5 favourite foundations across all brands, drugstore and high end.
2. Bourjois, Air Mat Foundation (£9.99)
If you prefer a foundation with a fuller coverage, you need to try Air Mat. It promises a 24 hour hold that feels ‘as light as air’ and I totally agree to it’s light, creamy texture and high coverage. Unlike the Healthy Mix that leaves a glowing radiance, the Air Mat goes on and stays matte throughout the day – this is a foundation that definitely controls oil!
If you’ve got dry skin I would steer clear unless you only plan to wear this for a few hours, as it clings to any dry patches after a while. My biggest bug bear with matte foundations is the feeling of wearing a mask of heavy makeup but Air Mat bucks that trend completely.
3. Bourjois, Radiance Reveal Concealer (£7.99)
To go with your new swanky Bourjois foundation, you really shouldn’t miss picking up your own Radiance Reveal concealer – it’s one of the best drugstore concealers I’ve ever used. The creamy texture, illuminating finish and excellent coverage makes this a total dream. The addition of hyaluronic acid in the formula means the concealer is hydrating and perfect for the under eye area as it doesn’t crease or sit in any fine lines.
The longevity of the concealer is a delight too. I loathe having to top up concealers throughout the day – there’s nothing worse than a cakey and flaking coverage over a spot – so this is another huge plus for this affordable, must-have.
Shades from left to right: Light Vanilla, Rose Ivory, Beige
Let me know which Bourjois products are your favourites – have you tried any of my top picks? If you go and try any of these, let me know what you make of them too.
Sincerely, Sarah xx
