The Makeup Artists To Follow on Instagram

#MUA returns more than 36 MILLION posts on Instagram. That’s a lot of accounts to sift through if you’re looking to indulge your love of makeup artistry. Luckily, I’ve spent (and will continue to spend) countless hours scrolling the ‘gram and now have a solid list of fave makeup artists I always stalk. So, if you’re looking to follow some extremely talented and uber creative people, these are the makeup artists to follow on Instagram.

@katiejanehughes
If you’re a fan of glossy skin, you have to follow Katie. She’s ridiculous with all elements of makeup but she does dewy, healthy skin like nobody else. With clients like Rosie Huntington Whitley and Kerry Washington, she really is the best of the best. Be prepared to have total eyebrow envy too – nobody does natural groomed brows quite like her!

@terrybarberonbeauty
If you need proof that inspiration can come from just about anything, then look no further than Terry’s work. I never get bored of scrolling through his feed – every single look is captivating and I love being able to see inspiration coming to life. Seriously, go take a look and you’ll get what I mean. It’s creativity on another level.

@aliandreeamakeup
Andreea is a makeup artist turned YouTuber from Romania who now lives in Paris. She’s the ultimate classy lady. The looks she creates are the epitome of pretty and her attention to detail is flawless. Andreea also pulls off a red lip like nobody else I’ve ever seen – it verges on unfair! I would absolutely love her to do my makeup someday.

@jamesmolloymakeupartist
James is the Global Makeup Ambassador for Rimmel and it’s pretty easy to see why. He is so original with his looks that his work is instantly recognisable. For me, he’s the king of editorial eye makeup. On a side note, he’s the creator of MyKitCo too, so if you’re on the lookout for good brush storage you definitely need to check him out.

@lisapotterdixon
I’ve been an LPD fan for as long as I can remember. Her philosophy towards makeup is one I totally get behind – it’s all about having fun and embracing creativity. If you’re partial to a good Instagram Live, her #learnwithlisa sessions are not to be missed, and don’t get me started on halloween week (so much talent!). Oh, and if you love glitter and sequins, Lisa could well be your spirit animal.

@mariobrooksbank
I had the pleasure of meeting Mario recently, and having him paint my face was a true delight. He’s such a lovely guy and his skills are next level. I love that his instagram is a mix of editorial work he’s done and more classic beauty makeup. This red and pink eye look is one of my absolute faves. If only he could do my makeup everyday… a girl can wish!

Which makeup artists do you love following on Instagram? I love finding new accounts, so don’t be shy.

Sincerely, Sarah xx
