The Best Blushers for Spring/Summer

Best Blushers For Spring/Summer Sincerely Sarah @SincSarahSnaps

Healthy, youthful looking skin is surely the look most of us are going for? A well-placed sweep of blush is an easy way of raising cheekbones, brightening the complexion and making your skin look more plumped. Here are my top picks for blushers to add to your collection for the spring and summer months:

Rimmel, Kate Sculpting Palette in Coral Glow – Everyone needs a peachy toned coral blush in their collection, especially for spring and summer. Peachy tones give a healthy flush to the face and keep a look natural and fresh. This Rimmel colour is perfectly matched to the bronze in the palette, has a very slight shimmer to it and is a great way to brighten your complexion. It’s great value for money too, as you get a fab highlight and bronzer all in one place.

Illamasqua Cream Blusher in Dixie –  Cream blushers are so versatile and Dixie is a fabulous shade for your cheeks and looks equally awesome on your lips. The formula is super pigmented and a little goes a really long way, so start gently and build it up if you want a stronger look. Illamasqua have a good range of shades and this formula is one you can’t ignore. It’s impossible not to love the dewy finish this gives to the skin too.

Makeup Revolution, Sculpt & Contour Kit in C01 – This palette made my 2016 favourites and a big reason being the orangey, peach blush. In the pan the blush looks like a rich pink but actually on the skin it’s lot subtler, unless you really layer it on – both work well! I tend to use this colour on the apples of my cheeks only as the shimmer acts as a real injection of light. If you’re not sure on blush colours and want to have a bit of a play, the £3.50 price tag makes this a must-have palette.

Clinique, Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm in Robust Rhubarb – Another cream blush you need in your collection – it’s travel friendly, the application is great and the staying power is even better. One of my bug bears with some cream blushers is the way they move your base makeup when you blend them but that never happens with this! Clinique have really got the formula spot on, it’s the right side of creamy without compromising on the colour payoff.  Robust Rhubarb is another coral but is more sheer and natural than Dixie.

Dr Paw Paw, Tinted Peach Pink Balm* – Dr Paw Paw is one of my go-to balms, it’s hydrating and really balmy and not at all greasy. The range also includes this peach pink balm as well as a red one, and they’re really multifunctional products – think lips, cheeks and even on your eyelids! This is my favourite blush for top-ups throughout the day so pop it in your bag and reach for it when you need a little ‘pick me up’.

NARS Blush in Orgasm – It’s impossible to round up spring/summer blushes and leave this one out! A pink blush with a beautiful golden shimmer, NARS Orgasm is an absolute cult classic. If you’re going to get one blush, get this – it’s a sure fire way to brighten up any look and the golden shimmer acts as a gorgeous highlight to further lift the look of the skin. I’m yet to find a person who doesn’t love this blush, so if you haven’t given it a shot before, make your way to your nearest NARS counter pronto!

I hope this round up has helped you explore some new blush colours for spring/summer. Let me know what you think in the comments and which of these you already have and love.

Sincerely, Sarah xx
